Wish fest

Today would have been a grand day to spend working on my Edelman presentation that’s due next week – I need to get cracking on that thing. It’s not original work – I’m no OR guru – only a paper and briefing on somebody else’s labors. It’ll be a full day at least of picking a linear program apart line by line, and trying to make sense of it. But it didn’t happen today. Son Number One wanted to buy a new computer and he asked for some company. Who was I to say no? A pleasant luncheon, some geektitude and convo – man talk, mostly. The kind of chat I never really had a chance to have with my own dear ol’ da, not much. Snatched away he was when I was just turned 21. SNO asked me questions and listened respectfully to the answers, and to tell you the truth? It puts pressures on a man. He’s not pitching soft balls anymore; the kinds of things he wants to know about now are the Life Lessons.

You want to get it right.
